Description:

Trancy Logistics America, a leading provider of international forwarding and warehouse management services, is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager at its San Antonio Distribution Center. This is an exempt position responsible for assisting in the management of the Company's receiving and distribution operations. This position reports to the on-site Division Manager and supports day-to-day supervision of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and service parts operation.


Supervisory

· Ensures that all policies and procedures are developed, business plan strategies, time lines, goals, etc. are monitored and followed.

· Monitors and reviews employee’s work activities through individual meetings and group meetings to ensure that all work activities are proceeding smoothly to plan.

· Delegates and advises employees regarding the Company’s philosophy and business practices.

· Motivates, develops and mentors employees for improved performance; Oversees other personnel activities including interviewing job applicants, new employee orientation & training, performance counseling and discipline including termination.

· May attend outside meetings such as company group meetings and training seminars for both information sharing and learning purposes. May at times visit other facilities to assist in start-up operations, evaluate current procedures and assist in operational improvements.

· Communicates and coordinates information both in writing and orally on a regular basis with both management and staff. May, at times, share information with customers and/or external consultants working on behalf of the Company.

· Audits and reviews audits of Operations standards adherence to ensure compliance with established work procedures.

· Overtime and weekends may be required.


Warehouse Coordination

· On a daily basis, supervises and delegates work assignments to operational staff. Consults with Operations Manager as needed.

· Supervises and controls daily warehouse activities including cycle counts, equipment maintenance, and problem solving as needed.

· Serves as liaison to the IT department for scan gun and WMS maintenance.

· Monitors production control and all related functions.

· Arranges shipments from warehouse as directed, including providing instruction to warehouse staff.

· Works with management to develop improvements in production and safety procedures, proper strapping, etc.

· Manage and facilitate all Trial Shipments to customer. Forecast and determine labor necessary for project completion and delegate assignments appropriately.


Managerial – Assist Role

· Acts on behalf of the Operations Manager in their absence, as assigned.

· Assist the Manager in providing leadership, direction, and daily operational oversight of the Company’s operations in San Antonio, TX. This includes supporting policy implementation, goal execution, daily management activities, and customer interface.

· Support the Manager in ensuring customer satisfaction across all on-site operations including warehouse, repack, shipping, and receiving. Work with customer representatives and supervisory staff to address concerns and support resolution.

· Assist in implementing operational improvement initiatives to support achievement of customer and internal performance targets.

· Support investigation of service failures, safety incidents, and operational issues by assisting with data collection, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.

· Assist in supporting the monthly invoicing process by verifying operational data, ensuring accuracy, and helping resolve discrepancies as needed.

· Support daily operational needs by coordinating with supervisors and team leaders and assisting with operational management as required.

· Assist in monitoring departmental performance and productivity, including tracking metrics and supporting reporting activities.

· Support implementation and adherence to company policies, procedures, business plans, timelines, and operational goals.

· Work with staff and customers to support operational needs and help resolve issues as assigned by the Manager

· Support employee development by providing guidance, training support, and mentoring as directed by the Manager.

· Assist in communicating operational information with staff, management, partner companies, and customers both verbally and in writing.


Miscellaneous & Other

· Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.

· Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

· Follows up to complete any assigned work.

· Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.

· Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisor for solution.

· Maintains good communication with supervisors, staff members and outside contacts.

· Complies with all company policies and procedures.

· Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Requirements:


· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience

· Five to seven years of related work experience which includes managing and supervising in a warehouse distribution center, understanding human resources laws.

· A strong candidate for this position would demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, leadership, project management, attention to detail, and customer service.

· General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer, etc.

· Software includes the use of Windows operating system and MS Office.
