Job description

Overview
We are looking for a capable Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Carriage House Evansville apartment community.
*We are offering a one-time $1,000 hiring bonus for this position (paid after 6 months of employment)*
The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds and perform the duties of the MS in his/her absence.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor must be able to perform the following tasks:
  • Complete all maintenance requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
  • Repair, install and maintain basic plumbing fixtures such as water heaters, lavatories, toilets, dishwashers. Service, maintain and trouble shoot HVAC systems.
  • Repair carpeting and tile.
  • Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots including snow removal.
  • Repair and maintain building exteriors and interior common areas.
  • Prepare vacant apartment for market ready condition, may include cleaning and painting.
  • Provide emergency resident support and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with scheduling contractors to perform work on the property.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with directing team members.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in the maintenance field desirable.
  • Must maintain universal EPA designation/certification.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residency.
  • Able to work overtime and emergency call in.
  • Must be willing to travel for training and meetings.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
