Job description

Job Title: Patient Support Technician
Location: CMC Nursing
Department Name: OR-Environmental Services

Pay Range: $17.56 - $20.37 per hour
Pay Transparency:
The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
In this role, the Patient Support Technician will assist members of the OR team to provide support with housekeeping, stocking and patient transport in the Operating Room.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques
  • Certified Aide training program preferred
  • Proven work record and commitment towards continuing education

Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)

Scheduling Requirements:
  • 9:00am-5:30pm
  • Monday-Friday with weekend and holiday on-call requirements
  • Full time

Essential Functions:
  • Assists in appropriate positions for surgical procedures
  • Check supplies for outdates
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload: completes case carts
  • Facilitates "express" processing of instruments/trays needed for later cases
  • Follows proper safety and infection control procedures and maintains a safe work environment
  • Maintains BLS completion status
  • Maintains the confidentiality, security, and integrity for the management of associate / patient information
  • Maintains the appropriate working condition of equipment utilized in direct patient care
  • Performs surgical preps with proper instruction
  • Proper transport and transfer patients when on call or as needed
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations
  • Reviews sterilizer performance tests and completes required documentation
