About the Opportunity

An established Garden Center located in Mandeville is seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and hands-on Retail Garden Center Manager to lead weekend operations. This is a part-time weekend role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in serving customers well, and can be trusted to help run the business when ownership is not on-site.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with management, department leadership, retail leadership, small business, landscaping, nursery, garden center, or outdoor retail experience. The right person will be organized, accountable, comfortable leading people, and willing to jump in wherever needed to make sure customers are taken care of.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead weekend yard operations on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Serve as the responsible weekend leader and key point of contact
  • Provide excellent customer service and go the extra mile to help customers
  • Lead, motivate, and direct team members during weekend shifts
  • Keep the yard, product areas, and customer-facing spaces organized and presentable
  • Help coordinate customer needs, loading support, product questions, and service issues
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient outdoor work environment
  • Communicate weekend updates, issues, customer feedback, and follow-up needs to ownership
  • Use sound judgment to solve problems and escalate issues when needed
  • Model strong accountability, professionalism, and hands-on leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior leadership, management, department lead, assistant manager, business owner, or supervisory experience
  • Strong customer service skills and a willingness to go above and beyond
  • Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, humidity, rain, and changing weather conditions
  • Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and self-directed
  • Able to lead people, set expectations, and keep work moving
  • Strong accountability and good judgment
  • Someone the owners can trust with weekend responsibility
  • Retail experience is preferred, but not required
  • Nursery, garden center, landscaping, outdoor retail, warehouse, or small business experience is a plus

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate enjoys being outside, likes helping customers, and has the maturity to manage weekend operations with limited supervision. This person should be hands-on, practical, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of the weekend customer experience.
