Join the team at J.W. Jung Seed Company , an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. With six garden centers across Wisconsin, Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants, and accessories to all 50 states.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Garden Center Manager to assist with the daily operations of our Fitchburg, WI Store. This is a great opportunity to help lead a dedicated team, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the growth of a thriving retail garden center.


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the Garden Center Manager in planning, ordering, and displaying plants and other products
  • Assist with training new employees
  • Assist with maintaining product quality through watering, trimming, and fertilizing.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, organized and visually appealing environment - both indoors and outdoors
  • Providing excellent customer service throughout the entire buying experience
  • Assist with customer service issues when necessary
  • Assist with unloading merchandise from trucks

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience with POS systems, inventory control, purchasing, and database management
  • Knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, soils, insecticides, and disease related topics preferred
  • Previous supervising or management experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Team player with a positive, hands-on attitude
