About Proficient Auto Logistics
Proficient Auto Logistics (PAL) is a leading specialized freight company focused on providing auto transportation and logistics services. Formed via IPO in May 2024, PAL combined five industry-leading operating companies, and has since acquired a sixth. As a combined entity, we operate one of the largest auto transportation fleets in North America with over 1200 trucks, 50 terminal locations and 700 employees, a majority of whom are drivers.
We offer a broad range of auto transportation and logistics services, primarily focused on transporting finished vehicles from automotive production facilities, marine ports of entry, or regional rail yards to auto dealerships around the country. We have developed a differentiated business model due to our scale, breadth of geographic coverage, and embedded customer relationships with leading auto original equipment manufacturing companies (OEMs).
Job Summary
Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles for conveyance of materials, freight, or passengers, or for normal installation, service, or emergency repairs rendered outside the place of business. Duties may include using radio, telephone, or computer to transmit assignments and compiling statistics and reports on work progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Be a customer service-oriented individual with a positive disposition, ability to speak effectively to both customers and drivers.
Be adaptable and thrive in an ever-changing, fast paced environment, while being able to problem solve at the same time.
Be responsible for overseeing freight for numerous customers ensuring compliance with shipping directives via building, dispatching, and checking in loads.
Track inventory daily- including yard checks, reporting on inventory and reporting to customers.
Managing drivers using a Driver Board and Operating System.
Assist in labor planning based on driver availability.
Build loads based on customer requirements.
Dispatch drivers based on driver classification, hours of service and load factors.
Frequently communicate and track drivers ETAs.
Track driver’s delivery process through check-in.
Answer phone and email to assist customers and drivers with any questions or concerns.
Process requests to add and delete units, if necessary.
Participate in weekend and after-hours rotation.
Requirements
Associates Degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
Finished Vehicle Transportation experience.
Experience in a Logistics Environment
Strong Computer skills including but not limited to the MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills
Team Player with High Energy
Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
