Job Description Dispatching Assistant ProspectBlue is partnering with a client seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dispatching Assistant to support daily terminal operations. This is a fast-paced role that plays a key part in keeping freight moving efficiently. The Dispatching Assistant will serve as a central point of coordination between drivers, operations staff, and customers to help ensure pickups and deliveries stay on schedule and service issues are addressed quickly.

What You'll Be Doing Assist dispatchers with daily load planning, driver assignments, and route coordination Communicate with drivers throughout the day to monitor progress, address delays, and provide updates Enter and track shipment data in the transportation management system with a high degree of accuracy Field calls and emails from customers and internal terminals regarding shipment status and delivery updates Support dock operations by helping coordinate freight flow and escalating service issues or exceptions as needed Assist with end-of-day reporting, documentation, and general dispatch/terminal support What We're Looking For Prior experience in LTL freight, logistics, transportation, or dispatch operations strongly preferred Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Proficiency with basic computer systems; experience with TMS, freight, or dispatch software is a plus Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support overall terminal operations Schedule & Compensation Full-time opportunity; schedule may vary based on terminal or operational needs Flexibility for early mornings and/or weekend availability is a plus Competitive compensation based on experience
