Job Summary:

Legend Homes is looking for an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join our Academy Development team in Houston, TX. The Assistant Development Manager will support the Project Manager in performing and overseeing day-to-day land development activities, including due diligence on land acquisitions, budget and schedule tracking, field observation, and coordination through the completion of improved lots and development approvals.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager of Land Development on analyzing new land opportunities and performing due diligence on potential acquisitions.
  • Support the creation, review, and maintenance of all due diligence property documents and reports, ensuring compliance with Camillo standards and notifying management of concerns and potential solutions.
  • Assist in coordinating information sharing and work distribution among land development, acquisitions, and construction teams.
  • Assist the Project Manager with administrative functions, including:
    • Payroll processing and support
    • Assisting with budgeting, budget tracking, and performance reporting
    • Field observation and site visits of ongoing development activities
    • Attending MUD (Municipal Utility District) meetings on behalf of or alongside the Project Manager
  • Assist with coordination among agencies for permitting, insurance, assurance, and close-out requirements.
  • Support oversight of construction of entrances, lots, amenities, and associated infrastructure, including coordination of contractors and inspectors.
  • Participate in on-site inspections, startups, final walkthroughs, and turnovers.
  • Assist in ensuring required property documentation is completed and stored properly.
  • Support the negotiation of final contracts and change orders as directed.
  • Assist in the design, review, approval, and permitting process.
  • Ability to travel.
  • All other duties as assigned.

    • Experience as a Land Analyst
    • Familiarity with MUD (Municipal Utility District)
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer
  • Periodic travel may be required
