Job description

Position: Assistant Controller

Compensation: $0 (Final salary will be based on relevant experience and qualifications)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Assistant Controller to join their team!

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys working in a hands-on, high-impact environment. Youโ€™ll play a key role in supporting upstream oil and gas accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close while partnering closely with operations and leadership to improve processes and strengthen controls.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversee revenue, JIB, AP, production accounting, and reporting coordination.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and supporting schedules.
  • Partner with operations, land, revenue, and FP&A teams.
  • Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements.
  • Help mentor and develop the accounting team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong upstream oil and gas accounting background.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with financial reporting and close processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivots and lookups.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
