Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-orientedController to lead our financial operations, ensuring strict adherence to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles. The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) contracting, financial compliance, and program control. A background with FAR/DFAR, and proficiency in Deltek Costpoint are essential to this role.

This position plays a critical role in managing accounting practices, developing budgets, monitoring cost control, and supporting executive decision-making through financial insights. A CPA is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities to ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, DFAR, and other government regulations.
  • Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to monitor program performance and budget adherence.
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and program performance reports.
  • Lead audits and liaise with external auditors, government auditors (DCAA, DCMA), and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash flow.
  • Collaborate with project managers and contract administrators to ensure contract compliance and cost accuracy.
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint for financial reporting, job costing, and compliance tracking.
  • Support executive leadership in strategic financial planning and risk assessment.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, establishing clear performance goals and training plans.
