Position Summary

The Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Licensed Nursing Home Administrator) partners with the Chief Executive Officer to provide operational leadership, drive quality outcomes, and support the overall success of the facility. This position plays a vital role in leading department managers, fostering employee engagement, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving operational performance, and delivering an exceptional resident experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CEO to oversee the daily operations of the facility while promoting exceptional resident care and operational excellence. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop department leaders to achieve organizational goals and build a high-performing leadership team. 
  • Monitor quality indicators, operational metrics, regulatory compliance, and financial performance while driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, recognition, and resident-centered service. 
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for department leaders. 
  • Support facility budgeting, labor management, census growth, and financial stewardship. 
  • Collaborate with department leaders to improve workflows, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. 
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives while ensuring readiness for state and federal surveys. 
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, referral partners, community organizations, and regulatory agencies. 
  • Assist with marketing, business development, and community outreach initiatives to strengthen census growth and community partnerships. 
  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state requirements, company policies, and professional standards. 
  • Serve as a visible leader throughout the facility by conducting routine leadership rounds, supporting employees, and maintaining a culture of excellence.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in the State of Kentucky. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute healthcare. 
  • Strong understanding of CMS regulations, survey process, reimbursement, quality measures, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee development skills. 
  • Strong financial, operational, and analytical abilities. 
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to lead multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently while collaborating effectively with executive leadership. 
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including extended periods of walking, standing, computer work, and responding to operational needs throughout the facility. 
Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care. 
  • Experience leading department managers and interdisciplinary leadership teams. 
  • Experience with QAPI, survey preparedness, budgeting, labor management, and census development. 
  • Proven success improving quality outcomes, employee engagement, and operational performance. 
  • Experience developing leaders through coaching and mentorship.
