Job description

Assistant Asset Manager

Primary Job Purpose the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for assisting in the performance of an affordable housing portfolio consisting of over 3,000 units, including the analysis and interpretation of financial data and evaluation of operating results in terms of profitability and performance indicators that measure the fiscal soundness and efficiency of DreamKeyโ€™s multi-family portfolio. In addition, this position will assist with oversight of our 3rd party property management companies; will assist with on-site property inspections and improvements; and will collaborate with the real estate and construction departments during construction and lease-up of properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the completion of duties assigned in yearly Asset Management Work Plan.
  • Assist in all aspects of the administrative, financial, capital and operations of CMHPโ€™s Asset Portfolio.
  • Assist in the preparation and approval process of property operating budgets.
  • Monthly review of operating statements.
  • Participate in special projects, including evaluation of properties for acquisitions or dispositions.
  • Create and maintain property deal books.
  • Assist with property reporting and annual demographic reports as needed.
  • Work cross functionally with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure all compliance standards are met.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.


Job Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in administrative responsibilities in Asset Management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with internal and external partners and at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent math skills and understanding of financial analysis.
  • Exceptional skills in software applications for real estate asset management as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Collaborative approach and professional relationship style with members of the community within which we work as well as colleagues, consultants, and third-party partners.
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

Successful applicant will have 5 years successful experience in asset management, portfolio management or related experience in multifamily development and operations. Ideal candidate will be cognizant of big picture and task objectives, yet also detail-oriented and willing to take a hand-on approach. Must be able to exhibit initiative and work independently.

Required Education: Four-year college degree

Required Licenses: None

Working Condition: Hybrid (office, work from home, and on-site at properties), with

occasional site visits in diverse urban and limited inner-city

communities; some nights and weekends required.
