James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is a reputable provider of remote solutions, specialty engineering, and technical services for applications within hazardous environments or with high integrity requirements. We are looking for an Assembly Technician to join our team in Loveland, CO. The anticipated closing date for this position is 5/6/26 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Function:

The Assembly Technician performs work throughout all aspects of the fabrication shop.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assemble custom machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Interpret and work to blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and procedures.
  • Install and route wiring, tubing, and piping according to system design.
  • Conduct appropriate tests to ensure proper function and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve design or build issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting, rework, or modifications as needed during assembly or testing phases.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Document assembly steps and report discrepancies or non-conformities.
  • Assist in shipping preparation and equipment installation as needed.

Typical Working Conditions:

Machine and fabrication shop environment around equipment such as water jet tables, lathes, milling machines and press brakes. Welding operations are often taking place nearby. This job requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.

Physical Requirements:

Strength and Stamina: The job may involve lifting and moving parts or materials, typically up to 50lbs. The ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) is required.

Manual Dexterity: Precise hand movements are necessary for handling tools, operating equipment and operating a computer.

Visual Acuity: Good eyesight, including close vision and depth perception, is important for detailed work and inspecting finished parts.

Mobility: Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching is required, along with the ability to maneuver around machinery and equipment.

Coordination: The role requires good hand-eye coordination to operate equipment safely and effectively.

Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years in an assembly technician role.
  • 2+ years of experience in a metal fabrication shop environment.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a forklift.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a bridge crane
  • Familiarity with safe rigging practices.
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of assembly techniques, tools and equipment.
  • Detail oriented with efficient work habits.
