Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Assembly Technician to join a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment in Lakewood, CO. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to begin a long-term career in manufacturing and aerospace. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating assembly, grinding, polishing, buffing, and deburring equipment used to remove excess material and refine metal components to precise customer specifications.
This role involves working with standardized processes and semi-routine assignments while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Candidates should have strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to recognize and report deviations from accepted manufacturing practices. Success in this position requires reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to producing high-quality aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery
  • File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications
  • Apply solutions and chemicals to equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools
  • Operate manual mill and/or lathe
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
  • Soldering experience; Certification of IPC-610(preferred) and J-STD-001, or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Eligible or already have security clearance (highly desirable)
  • Able to read blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools including deburring blades, scraper handles, Dremel’s, rotary brushes, sanders and grinders.
  • Good hand dexterity and coordination are necessary as products and components are typically very small.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow step-by-step instructions
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Able to carry out tasks that require steady, precise arm movement for taping/masking parts
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
  • Pay rate is $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Application Window: Open until filled
Work Schedule
  • 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
