Wake Preparatory Academy is now accepting applications for a High School Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.


The Art Teacher fosters a creative and supportive environment where students can explore various artistic mediums and develop individual styles. Emphasizing the importance of self-expression and critical thinking through the study of art history, techniques, and concepts, the Art Teacher should cultivate a passion for the arts. The Art Teacher inspires students to build confidence in their artistic abilities and think innovatively.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement a comprehensive art curriculum that covers various art forms, techniques, and historical contexts.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and learning styles.
  • Incorporate a variety of media and artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
  • Teach art classes using diverse instructional methods, such as demonstrations, hands-on activities, and group projects.
  • Guide students through the creative process, including concept development, technique application, and critique.
