Description

A Program Manager is a people manager in the Syneos One and is primarily responsible for creating high-quality program materials, managing launch execution, and tracking/reporting on program financials. A Program Manager operates as a partner to the Commercialization Lead and Functional Leads in achieving a superior client experience. Expectations include the ability to structure and complete program management tasks autonomously, communicate proactively and effectively with team members, and manage junior program management team members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, Syneos One team members, leadership, operational partners in other business units, and Finance.
  • Achieve billable utilization target in service to client engagements. Sit across multiple programs on a routine basis.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to build skills, experience, and relationships by contributing to program engagements and internal initiatives.
  • Establish clear understanding of key program activities, overall timelines, and how contributions relate to key deliverables in the client contract.
  • Prepare for and attends meetings and presentations. Take notes, write up meeting minutes, summarize next steps and action items, schedule follow-up meetings, and, in collaboration with Commercialization and Functional Leads and other program management staff, communicate post-meeting, as appropriate.
  • In conjunction with other program management and operations staff, create high-quality deliverables quickly. Address feedback quickly and quality checks revisions. Exhibit exceptional attention to detail. Deliver on-time and communicates proactively when timing is at risk.
  • Provide constructive verbal and written feedback to junior program management team members on deliverables and client/team interactions.
  • Demonstrate technical skill according to the demands of the program and use skill to create value on programs with minimal support, and communicating findings succinctly and clearly, verbally and through written text.
  • Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recommend creative ideas based on prior experience. Anticipate and support program/client needs, concerns, and challenges through the design of alternatives and contingency plans. Demonstrate resourcefulness.
  • Liaise with Syneos One Finance partner(s) and other delivery team members to manage delivery program financials, including work complete, invoice reconciliation, intercompany work orders, etc. When requested by Accounting, assist the Commercialization Lead to collect on overdue client invoices.
  • Facilitate SOW/WO creation and execution in conjunction with the Delivery Director and/or other program management team members.
  • Navigate and resolve program ambiguity, client changes, delays/expedites, and/or unexpected information with maturity and professionalism.
  • Use judgement and discernment to communicate with clients, Commercialization/Functional Leads, Finance, BU operational partners, and leadership on a regular basis. Proactively communicate when timing or financials are at risk. Keep leadership informed of activities, team/client dynamics, project status, scope changes, and potential risks.
  • Exhibit professional, positive, respectful, and mature interactions internally & externally. Display passion and drive while advocating for a superior client experience through program delivery.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or higher degree, or PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) / Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to assess client needs and deliver high-quality, effective communications
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project, SharePoint, Teams)
  • 4+ years project management experience required
  • Demonstrated complex program management experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Experience within the biopharmaceutical industry required, product launch / commercialization preferred
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Exceptional ability to work in cross-functional teams

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $X to $Y. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
