The Area Director will report to the VP of Sales & Operations and is responsible for managing the Sales and Operations in their designated areas. Responsibilities include establishing relationships within the region's strategic customers, advocating between Operations, Strategic Relationship Team, and the Branch management team while increasing customer spend with accounts respective to the Areas across all Branch Solutions & Offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate DNOW objectives, business model, and technologies clearly within the customer organization at the upper levels.
  • Focus internally within the Branch and with customer executives to ensure a high degree of communication across a wide range of issues focused on customer satisfaction, including on-time delivery, product availability, problem resolution, solution creation and implementation, and process design and redesign.
  • Manages all facets of operations to ensure all internal and external requirements for the area assigned are fulfilled
  • Facilitate and oversee all facets of revenue generation within assigned area.
  • Maximize financial results, and meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Cultivate and grow customer base and increase market share within region.
  • Manage and lead the team to provide excellent customer service to assigned group in specific area.
  • Supervise/direct branch managers and ensures daily duties are carried out.
  • Communicate effectively within the Region and Corporate; operations, support groups and management on activity, sales, opportunities and market information.
  • Ensures key metric performances are in place and actively being managed.
  • Maintains branch inventory levels which meet or exceed company guidelines which include on hand unit accuracy and total investment.
  • Ensure that effective processes are in place that communicate customer needs and delivery of Branch products and services.
  • Set metrics around performance, account management, training, and profit generating objectives for the Area Sales Team.
  • Resolve issues with quick responses and quality work.
  • Become a partner with the Distribution Strategic Relationship Team, helping to understand and communicate the customer needs internally.
  • Communicate and work with the other Area Sales Directors to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the customer's plans and activities.
  • Facilitate a monthly Area meeting with the Area Sales and Operations Teams to ensure clarity around goals, issues, and opportunities.
  • Work with the Area Sales Team in building strategies to produce results and generate revenue around all Branch product solutions & offerings.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews with the Area Sales Team to ensure strict focus on opportunities, issues, action items, and personal development.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality according to internal policy from Area customers.
  • Special projects, as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional management experience
  • Broad technical knowledge regarding Branch products and service offerings
  • Solid understanding of the drilling and oil & gas production business
  • Experience managing multi-cultural teams
  • Astute business person with a good understanding of profitability and ROCE
  • Proven high-level sales, sales management and marketing skills
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and documentation skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • SAP preferred
  • Culturally adroit and able to travel extensively
  • Aggressive, goal-oriented, self-starter with excellent time management skills
  • Strategic thinker, yet hands-on and tactical
  • Adept at team dynamics and results-focused, both internally and externally
