It is designed to teach individuals the skills and knowledge needed for a specific trade or occupation under the guidance of experienced professionals. These programs typically last from one to six years, depending on the trade, and lead to a recognized credential or certification. Apprentices earn wages while they learn, making it an attractive option for those entering the workforce. Upon completion, apprentices are often offered full-time employment in their field.

Familiarity with industry-specific tools, safety protocols, and in some cases, entry-level certifications, is typically required. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help apprentices adapt and excel in dynamic work environments. These skills and qualities are crucial for mastering hands-on tasks, ensuring safety, and successfully transitioning from trainee to skilled professional.
