Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of remote work within a telehealth facility, allowing you to connect with patients from the comfort of your own location. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to accurately evaluate clients' symptoms associated with eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions, establishing their treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, individualized treatment plans through collaborative goal-setting with clients, emphasizing their unique recovery journeys.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to facilitate therapeutic growth.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessions that help clients reshape distorted beliefs regarding body image, food, and self-worth.
  • Empower clients by assisting them in fostering healthy coping mechanisms, enhancing emotional regulation skills, and employing effective strategies to combat disordered eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate effectively with the larger treatment team to ensure cohesive and continuous care, addressing each clientโ€™s holistic needs and well-being.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, promoting a deeper understanding of eating disorders and amplifying supportive environments conducive to recovery.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions while adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development sessions to continually enhance clinical skills and broaden knowledge in the field of eating disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals grappling with eating disorders and their associated mental health challenges. This specialized patient population requires a nuanced understanding of the psychological aspects of eating behaviors and the emotional difficulties that accompany them, making your role pivotal in their healing and recovery processes.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Tennessee.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapies for eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • A thorough understanding of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and any co-occurring psychological conditions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport, empathy, and trust with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two yearsโ€™ professional experience as a mental health counselor.
  • Experience in clinical settings focusing on eating disorders and related mental health issues is highly desirable.
