Founded in 2004, Top Score Education is a premier boutique tutoring and test prep company serving the DC metro area, Durham NC, South Florida, and beyond. We provide personalized 1-on-1 in-home and virtual tutoring for students in grades 6-12, covering all academic subjects, standardized tests (SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, HSPT), and nearly all AP exams.
Top Score Education is seeking a part-time SAT/ACT Tutor to deliver in-home sessions for students across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Sessions are held on weekday evenings and weekends, offering flexible hours that fit around your schedule.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a 2-hour private, in-home SAT/ACT tutoring sessions across the DC Metro area
  • Build customized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and goals
  • Maintain consistent communication with students and parents while collaborating with the Top Score team to track progress and refine strategies
  • Complete 50-60 hours of paid onboarding training to set you up for success
Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years of SAT/ACT tutoring experience with a 95th percentile or higher score
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for student success
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, strong time management, and a reliable team player
Compensation & Benefits
  • $55 - $100/hour based on experience and tenure, plus travel bonuses for drives over 30 minutes
  • Access to proprietary resources, ongoing training, and opportunities to expand your subject portfolio and take on leadership roles
Logistical Requirements
  • Available evenings (4 -10 PM weekdays) and weekends with a minimum commitment of 8 teaching hours/week
  • Reliable access to a car and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for in-home sessions
  • As part of our commitment to student safety, all tutors must pass a background check before their first session.
  • Preferred 2+ year commitment; remote opportunities available for tutors who relocate
