Role Overview:
This position is primarily an SQL application development role, focused on building and enhancing the internal tools, data workflows, and application logic that support our production and communication systems. While basic web development skills are helpful, the core of this job is SQL-driven application development that powers operational visibility, reporting, automation, and data movement across the company. You will collaborate with senior developers, operations leaders, and technical teams to turn business requirements into functional data applications that help drive performance, quality, and efficiency.

Job Duties:

  • Write, test and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views and functions to support our operational data systems.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining databases to support new features and operational dashboards.
  • Build and enhance web-based user interfaces or portals (for example internal dashboards, data entry screens, reporting tools) that integrate with SQL data stores.
  • Collaborate with operations, analytics and IT teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver.
  • Troubleshoot data and application issues — for example performance bottlenecks, query inefficiencies, data integrity issues.
  • Document database objects, application modules, user workflows and maintain development standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, learn from senior developers, and progressively take on more responsibility.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Onsite until training complete
    • Hybrid flexibility
  • Core Hours: 9AM - 4PM

Compensation:

  • $65,000 or higher annually based on experience

BENEFITS TO JOINING MIDWEST:

  • Strong proficiency with SQL (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Understanding of query optimization, joins, stored procedures, and data structures.
  • Some experience or coursework in web application development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, .NET, PHP, Node.js, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, organization, time management, and willingness to learn.

What We Offer:

  • Clear growth path toward full-stack development or advanced data engineering roles.
  • Hybrid work flexibility with hands-on exposure to production operations.
  • Competitive salary and full benefits.
  • Mentorship and professional development.
