Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join its Industrial Management baccalaureate program.
Reporting to the Dean of the Division of Business, Technology, and Online Program, this position teaches in Bachelor of Applied Technology program in Industrial Management;
  • develops and teaches upper division operations management courses and other courses as needed using both traditional and alternative delivery methods;
  • prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
  • assists in the advisement and recruiting of students;
  • serves on various assigned college committees;
  • supports the Division's student success initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited college or university or a masters degree in the discipline with a completion of doctorate within five years;
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience;
  • Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution;
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as minimum educational credentials are met.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate hours in management/organizational behavior and operations management subjects, production planning and control, quantitative methods or applied statistics, project management or related subjects;
  • Management employment experience within the manufacturing industry;
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience with non-traditional students and applied management coursework;
  • Experience developing and delivering online courses;
  • Experience in promoting of and/or recruiting for academic programs.
