Job description

Job Title: Applied Theatre Programs Manager

Organization: The Naples Players
Reports To: Summer Pliskow, Director of Arts Access

Position Summary
The Naples Players is seeking an applied theatre facilitator to support the day to day programming of the Arts Access department with a focus on the creation, implementation, and facilitation of performing art based enrichment programs. This full-time role plays an important part in fulfilling our organization's mission of building community through the exceptional access to the power of theatre by devising programs to serve our patrons and our community partners. 

The position will work closely with the Director of Arts Access to create tailored program curriculums and teach improv, musical theatre, and other performing arts mediums through a theatre for wellbeing lens. This role requires flexibility, adapting in the moment, and the ability to create and teach both life skills and artistic skillbuilding programs to varying demographics. Program participants will range from elementary/middle school students, youth and adults with developmental disabilities, the corporate workforce, adults with brain change, or patients in care and clinical settings - just to name a few.

As one of the largest and most active community theatres in the country, TNP produces a wide range of theatrical productions, educational programs, and community partnerships that engage thousands of participants and audience members each year.

Key Responsibilities

Programming

  • Facilitate daily performing arts workshops to varying audiences

  • Design program curriculums to serve our in house and community partner programs with a focus in applied theatre methodologies and disability theatre

Administration

  • Maintain program spreadsheets, class registrations, and student communication 

  • Foster data-tracking systems to collate information regarding served populations

  • Maintain detailed student and volunteer records within our database system for increased organization-wide communication

  • Assist with managing classroom supplies and facility calendars for programming 

Community Engagement

  • Serve as a representative of TNP at relevant community events, in-house Arts access programs, or meetings when necessary

    • This includes relaxed performances, sensory booth performance bookings or access concierge, tabled events, and more. 

Qualifications

  • Previous teaching/facilitation experience

  • Previous experience in the field of applied theatre, or related application of the arts in community settings

  • Experience working with individuals with IDD, brain change, or other accommodation needs in a classroom setting

  • Demonstrates flexibility, patience, and the capability to manage diverse populations and situations

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in music direction, reading music, and basic piano playing.

  • Multi-disciplinary artist with experience in multiple performing art forms
