Job description

Title: Application Support Specialist
Location: Richmond, VA 23234 (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract

Responsibilities:
  • Work and collaborate with users, engineering, and support teams to set up and maintain workflows
  • Work and collaborate with Production Data Analyst to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Train new and existing users
  • Partner with IT to ensure system configuration and uptime
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics
  • Collaborate with users, engineering, IT, and MES vendor on improving operational performance
  • Guide users in defining requirements for added features, problem resolution and proper application utilization
  • Develop and implement process improvements by actively participating on cross functional teams
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and integrate isolated systems and/or automate existing processes for efficiency
  • Be a part of short- and long-term projects to implement process improvements and efficiencies
  • Work with MES vendor on updates, upgrades and new tool configuration
  • Perform testing to ensure developmental needs meet functional requirements
  • Formulate and maintain MES procedures and documentation
  • Stay abreast of current information and developments concerning MES
Qualifications:
  • 2-year technology degree or equivalent preferred, not required
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Line of business experience preferred
  • A programming background;
  • Able to work with people at different levels;
  • Self-managed, good with handling multiple projects;
  • Some IT background - infrastructure would be good, software is not necessary;
  • Not sure how you quantify this, but I need someone with grit (this assignment will be a challenge, he/she will be supported and join a good team, but this person needs to be able to push and make things happen).
  • Specific application experience is not required but nice to have. Applications we work with: Windows OS, SAP, the main system will be a shopfloor management application.
