Job description

  • Ensure efficient and timely procurement of materials to support production schedules
  • Optimize inventory levels and minimize costs
  • Plan materials for challenging programs
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to align material planning with production schedules and project requirements
  • Identify and lead projects to enhance systems and processes
  • Use ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL to manage and analyze material requirements, inventory levels, and procurement activities
  • Monitor and analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing
  • Prepare and present material planning and inventory performance reports to management
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and guide junior material planners and other team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, or Master's plus 6 years of experience
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience implementing demand scheduling toolsHighly skilled with ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL
  • Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace or Automotive
  • Advanced certifications in supply chain management or material planning preferred, such as APICS CPIM or CSCP
  • Advanced degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, or CIS preferred
  • Significant SAP experience preferred
  • Experience using Python, R, PowerBI, or Tableau preferred
