Job description

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise and mentor a Staff Accountant, including review of AP, AR, and Payroll activities for accuracy and completeness

· Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions prepared by staff

· Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

· Lead and support audit preparation and examination processes, including documentation and reconciliations

· Assist in risk management reviews and internal control assessments

· Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting

· Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and industry standards

· Partner with leadership to support financial planning and decision-making

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· CPA strongly preferred (or actively pursuing)

· 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience

· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes

· Experience reviewing or overseeing AP, AR, and payroll functions

· Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

· Experience in consulting, government contracting, or professional services environments is a plus

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
