Job description

Job Title: InfoSec AntiVirus Engineer Location: Washington, DC (onsite) Type: Contract Compensation: $50.88/HR on W2 Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust (or higher if required) Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise anti-virus operations supporting SEC workstations and servers across the agency environment, including centralized policy administration, secure deployment, configuration, signature/DAT and engine updates, and scheduled scanning.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex malware and endpoint security incidents, driving rapid restoration and durable corrective actions.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise anti-virus software deployment and configuration across required systems.
  • Administer centralized anti-virus policies, exceptions, and protection settings via enterprise management consoles.
  • Coordinate anti-virus configurations and updates with endpoint management processes, baseline images, and deployment standards.
  • Support testing and rollout of anti-virus policy or agent changes, maintaining SOPs, runbooks, and configuration baselines.
  • Troubleshoot and perform technical analysis on complex anti-virus and malware-related issues, providing senior-level support.
  • Coordinate with support teams to restore services quickly, document actions, and prevent repeated incidents.
  • Monitor operational metrics such as coverage, update compliance, scan status, and incident trends; generate regular reports.
  • Ensure operations align with security policies, change controls, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to security improvements by recommending automation and control enhancements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including 7-10 years managing enterprise anti-virus solutions.
  • Experience with centralized anti-virus management platforms (e.g., enterprise policy orchestration tools).
  • Proven experience deploying, configuring, and supporting anti-virus controls on workstations and servers.
  • Technical expertise in enterprise anti-virus administration, signature/DAT and engine updates, malware scanning, and health validation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for escalated incidents and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with FISMA-driven security and audit compliance in federal environments (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience integrating endpoint security with Microsoft Intune or similar platforms (preferred).
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Trellix/McAfee ePO, or Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (preferred).
