.This position has a base compensation range of $65,000.00 to $75,000.00. The Airfreight Supervisor will supervise both import and export product teams for his/her assigned area of responsibility. He / She will be responsible for that team's product compliance, quality outcomes to internal and external stakeholders, volume and revenue growth, yield, operating efficiency, with a specific focus on productivity and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between the client, vendors, and government agencies.

  • Controls commercial documentation required for export or import declaration and other regulatory agencies or requirements (AES, DPS, Hazmat, AMS).

  • Responsible for export compliance including Denied Party Screening and AES filing.

  • Ensures that all commercial documentation required for import customs clearance purposes are available and coordinates with both external and internal parties in case of discrepancies.

  • Coordinates special booking requests (hazardous, oversize).

  • Manages and addresses all escalations in regards to file and shipment profitability - audits and identifies files with loss or low margin and works with product management, sales, pricing, and team members to implement corrective action.

  • Provides management with objective feedback regarding vendor performance levels and escalates issues to ensure best level of service.

  • Conducts regular employee performance review meetings and sets performance goals to drive employee development.

  • Ensures all assigned employees are trained, certified, and re-certified periodically on internal and external standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Validates that department staff understand and comply with customer and company standard operating procedures.
