Position Overview: Taymar Sales U.'s General Manager of Ticket Sales and Operations, University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) Athletics, position will be responsible for the leadership and execution of all aspects of ticket revenue generation, ticket operations, and annual fund revenue for the UTEP Athletics Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of all ticket sales strategy and execution, management of Taymar staff on site at UTEP, oversight of ticket operations through TicketMaster, play a lead role in premium sales where applicable, focus on annual and standalone donations, outbound phone calls to generate new season ticket and group sales, retention of current season ticket holders through elite customer service, daily and weekly reporting, and other duties as determined by senior management and the Athletics Department.
Responsibilities:
  • Day to day oversight of ticket sales and operations as well as the annual fund, strategy, and execution for all ticketed athletic events.
  • Plan, create and execute a comprehensive year-round ticket sales strategy to grow revenue for UTEP Athletics.
  • Exceed all Ticket Sales revenue goals determined by senior management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Ticket Sales and Operations Manager and Account Executives.
  • Manage and coach a sales team that is focused on hitting and exceeding ticket sales goals.
  • Communicate with UTEP fan base/donors through outbound calls, emails and face to face meetings
  • Initiate and execute ticket sales results for Group Sales, New Season Ticket Sales, Parking, and Renewal campaigns.
  • Generate reports and track overall ticketing/donation revenue pace towards goals.
  • Work as a self-starter to innovate new initiatives to drive revenue for the athletics department.
  • Serve on the athletics senior staff and executive leadership team.
  • Represent athletics program and University with the highest integrity.
  • Build superior relationships with all fans, donors, and athletic department constituents.
  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment to produce accurate results.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all internal & external units of the department and University to ensure a positive event experience for customers.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ Years experience in a Sports Ticket Sales role
  • Proven track record and success in ticket revenue strategies.
  • Thorough knowledge of ticket sales processes and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable on ticket operation strategies. Experience using TicketMaster would be a plus.
  • Experience in intercollegiate athletics or professional ticket sales with successful results.
  • Understanding of college athletics fundraising through ticket sales with a proven record of growing revenue.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a degree in Sports Management or a related field.
  • Effective communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  • Ability to work various hours including nights and weekends.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, communication skills, and desire & ability to learn in a fast paced, highly competitive industry
