Job description

Analysts are responsible for determining how many Air Force C-17s, KC-135s, C-130s, C-5s, and KC-46s are needed to win in future conflicts, in addition to what capabilities are needed! Join a fast-paced team to deliver analytics to inform congress and Air Mobility Command leadership on mobility requirements using advanced modeling and simulation techniques. This is an opportunity to learn advanced warfighting models, such as AFSIM and STORM.
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Senior Air Mobility Operations Research Analyst, GS-1515-13 at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois.
Salary Range: $109,137- $167,663 based on experience
Moving expenses may be paid.
up to 20% telework possible

Qualifications/Requirements:
The primary purpose of this position: To serve as an operations analyst and technical authority who leads air mobility operational capabilities studies using analysis methods and techniques over a broad range of functional areas.
U.S. Citizenships Required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.
Drug Testing: This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of personnel Management for the 1515 occupational series must be met (i.e. a bachelor's degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus).
Expert knowledge of the Rapid Global Mobility mission area with particular emphasis on aerial refueling operations, capabilities, and technologies. Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of both US and foreign air mobility operations capabilities. Thorough knowledge of all AMC and USTRANSCOM missions, policies, organizations, and staffing procedures.
Skill in modeling and simulation, statistics, stochastics, computer science, math, deterministic modeling, artificial intelligence, AFSIM, STORM, operations research.
Knowledge of policies and procedures applicable to security/classification and Privacy Act programs.
Mastery level skill in a broad range of operations research techniques; skill in use of and ability to apply quantitative techniques and application of air mobility models with a focus on aerial refueling capabilities to solve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions for senior management. Extensive knowledge of current Air Force (or similar agency) modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities, resources, and organizations.
