Work Arrangement: This full-time role follows an in-office schedule, with an expectation of working on-site in Glastonbury, CT, with limited flexibility as needed.


As an Account Manager, Large Commercial Lines, you will handle mid-to-large commercial accounts including complex accounts over $35k in revenue. We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 3+ years of Property and Casualty experience who are actively looking to develop in their career.


Responsibilities

  • Nurture client relationships and manage all aspects of the daily service of their commercial insurance policies: Binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, audits, claims, loss prevention programs, summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals.
  • Together with the Risk Advisor, the Account Manager engages in the renewal strategy, has discussions with Underwriters, evaluates quotes and prepares proposals and other documentation to provide to the client, ensuring the best possible solutions are delivered to clients in high quality and timely manner.
  • Work independently to inform and educate, answer questions, resolve issues, and make decisions regarding the need for coverage enhancements and modifications.
  • Utilize agency management system, Applied Epic, for daily activities, documentation and client communication ensuring relevant data and information is properly managed.
  • Interpret policy language, identify risks and exposures to loss, and recommend appropriate coverages in coordination with the Risk Advisor.
  • Follow department and company defined processes, procedures, and workflows, within specified timelines, to drive consistency and efficiency, with a focus on client experience.
  • Ultimately, our ideal candidate will believe in Smith Brothers’ purpose, values, and standards, and be willing to work collaboratively with their teammates to drive value to all our stakeholders. As a member of a 20-person department, be a team player supporting others, mentoring and providing back up client coverage for other Account Managers.
  • Utilize the agency management system for daily activities, documentation, and assigned tasks.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to strengthen skills, knowledge, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with agency processes, confidentiality standards, and quality metrics.
  • Work on projects and other work as assigned.
  • Effectively use MS Office, standard office applications, and other technologies.
  • Skillfully use AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to aid work and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate alignment with our purpose, values, and culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 + years of experience as an account manager in mid-market commercial lines insurance preferred.
  • P & C license required.

Compensation
The estimated base salary range for this position ranges from $63,600-83,300, and this role is eligible for commission tied to new business production. Commission eligibility applies to first-year revenue only and excludes renewal business. Commission plans are subject to change. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The hiring range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.


Qualifying positions will also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, such as participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401K plan, PTO, licensing, and continuing education reimbursement.


Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
