Job description

Job Title: Payroll Coordinator

Company: Red Tail Acquisitions

Location: Onsite - Irvine, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer, Payroll Manager

Position Summary

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and supporting the People Operations team. This role ensures timely and accurate payment of wages, tracks employee time and leave, and serves as a point of contact for payroll-related questions and issues.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Review timesheets, commission and bonus calculations, and other payroll data to detect and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the HRIS/payroll system.
  • Record job and pay changes, including transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Compute wages, deductions, and bonuses, ensuring accurate data entry into payroll software.
  • Maintain communication with site managers to ensure timely payroll processing.
  • Track and maintain employee time-off records, including sick, vacation, and other leaves of absence.
  • Compile employee time and payroll data from timesheets and other records.
  • Organize and distribute paychecks to all locations.
  • Respond to, redirect, and escalate team member payroll questions or complaints as needed.
  • Maintain all paper and electronic personnel records to ensure compliance.
  • Complete employment verifications as requested.
  • Run reports, audit payroll data, and provide accurate reporting to management.
  • Support various administrative tasks and special projects as assigned by the People Operations Manager.

Qualifications / Skills

  • High school diploma required; ADP or payroll certification preferred.
  • ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager experience preferred.
  • ADP Enhanced Time (Enterprise eTIME) experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance practices and procedures.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet payroll deadlines and special projects.
  • May require occasional extended hours to meet payroll deadlines or support People Operations initiatives.
  • Must have 2-3 years of payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager a plus
  • Must reside within 20 miles radius of the Irvine office.
