The Time Administrator is a critical member of the Time Administration team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee time, attendance, and absences for large employee populations, including salaried exempt, non-exempt, hourly, and represented employees. This role serves as a subject matter expert for timekeeping, pay practices, payroll controls, and time-related compliance requirements while delivering exceptional customer support to employees and supervisors.
The successful candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Administer time and attendance activities for a large population of employees.
  • Audit employee time records and absence entries to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll processing.
  • Review and resolve timekeeping exceptions and payroll-impacting errors prior to payroll close deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding timekeeping, attendance, leave coding, and pay-related questions.
  • Provide guidance on routine and complex time administration scenarios in accordance with company policies, labor agreements, and applicable laws.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Disability Management, Labor Relations, and operational leadership to resolve employee pay and timekeeping issues.
  • Conduct routine audits and reconcile discrepancies using Workday, Excel, and related reporting tools.
  • Manage leave-related time coding, including disability and leave of absence cases, ensuring accurate payroll treatment.
  • Develop and deliver training for supervisors, employees, and support staff on timekeeping processes and systems.
  • Maintain required records and documentation in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, special projects, system enhancements, and process standardization efforts.
  • Collaborate with other Time Administrators to ensure operational continuity and service excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience performing Time Administration, payroll support, workforce administration, or timekeeping compliance activities for a large employee population.
  • Demonstrated experience administering employee time and attendance records in Workday and/or enterprise timekeeping systems.
  • Demonstrated experience auditing timesheets and correcting payroll-impacting exceptions under established payroll processing deadlines.
  • Experience interpreting and applying company timekeeping policies, leave administration guidelines, and pay practices.
  • Experience supporting complex time-entry scenarios including overtime calculations, work schedule changes, leave of absence processing, disability time coding, retroactive corrections, and pay-impacting adjustments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, perform audit functions, identify discrepancies, and reconcile payroll-related data.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a primary point of contact for supervisors and employees regarding timekeeping, attendance, and payroll-related issues.
  • Proven ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve complex timekeeping and payroll discrepancies with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in an environment with recurring payroll close deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Time Administrator within Chevron or a comparable large-scale industrial, manufacturing, energy, refinery, mining, utility, or unionized environment.
  • Experience supporting represented employees and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements when processing time and pay transactions.
  • Experience with Workday Time Tracking, Workday Absence Management, CTM and/or equivalent enterprise workforce management systems.
  • Experience administering disability, leave of absence, family care, paid family leave, and return-to-work time coding processes.
  • Experience conducting payroll readiness audits and pre-pay-close compliance reviews.
