Job description

Automotive Wholesale Buyer / Used Car Acquisition Manager
Franchise Dealership Experience Required | 5+ Years Experience | Immediate Opening

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Wholesaler / Used Vehicle Buyer to join our dealership team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a proven professional with a successful track record buying, appraising, and wholesaling vehicles for a new car franchise dealership.

The ideal candidate understands today's wholesale market, has established auction relationships, can accurately appraise vehicles, and consistently generates profitable inventory decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Purchase and sell vehicles through wholesale channels.

  • Attend and bid at Manheim, ADESA, and other wholesale auctions.

  • Appraise customer trade-ins quickly and accurately.

  • Determine actual cash value (ACV) based on current market conditions.

  • Source desirable inventory from auctions, dealers, private parties, and off-lease opportunities.

  • Manage wholesale inventory and maximize profitability.

  • Work closely with the Used Car Manager, General Sales Manager, and Sales Department.

  • Monitor market pricing using current valuation tools and auction data.

  • Negotiate purchases and wholesale transactions with dealerships and vendors.

  • Maintain strong relationships with auction representatives and dealer networks.

  • Ensure all transactions comply with dealership policies and state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of dealership experience as a Used Car Manager, Wholesale Buyer, or Automotive Wholesaler.

  • Previous new car franchise dealership experience is required.

  • Strong appraisal skills with the ability to accurately value all makes and models.

  • Active or previously approved auction credentials with Manheim, ADESA, or equivalent wholesale auction networks.

  • Experience buying and selling vehicles across all major manufacturers including domestic, import, and luxury brands.

  • Proven history of profitable inventory acquisition and wholesale performance.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Computer proficiency with dealership inventory and appraisal software.
