Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 + Bonus  (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Job Summary:

The Controller is responsible for leading the organization's accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with business objectives. This role oversees financial close processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.

Essential Functions (included but not limited to):

  • Manage the accounting function:
    •  Accounting operations
    • Financial audit
    • Income taxes
    • ERP enhancements
    • Process improvements
    • Policies and procedures
  • Supervisory responsibilities
    • Oversee an accounting staff of 5-8
    • Enforce and manage all HR policies and procedures associated with management of a team
    • Manage training and development
  • Manage accounting operations:
    • Accounts payable - vendor maintenance, vouching, coding, paying invoices
    • Accounts receivable - customer maintenance, invoicing, collections, cash applications
    • Commissions - calculation and payment
    • Monthly close - complete, accurate, timely preparation of monthly financial package
    • Compliance - Sales/GST/VAT tax compliance
  • Manage month end closing process including: all adjusting journal entries, financial statement preparation, financial deck, account reconciliations, analytical review and reporting
  • Lead company in efficient and timely completion of annual audit
  • Assist with the preparation of income tax returns, quarterly estimates and nexus reviews
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial and operational policies and procedures
  • Review and sign off on all company purchase orders, payables and expenses
  • Serve as the go-to person for questions/issues regarding GL's, financial statements and operational reports
  • Signer on all bank accounts
  • Cost accounting and assisting on proper product pricing levels to ensure optimum ROI
  • Support the CFO with other financial projects as needed; budgeting, reporting, analysis, risk management, ERP processes, polices, internal controls.

Minimum Requirements:

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Experience with ERP systems and process optimization initiatives
