Position Overview

The Financial Controller / Director of Finance will oversee all accounting, financial operations, reporting, internal controls, and administrative functions while building scalable systems and infrastructure.

This individual will be responsible for building, training, managing, and holding accountable an offshore accounting and administrative team, while simultaneously leading and improving our local finance, HR, and office teams.

In addition to accounting and financial leadership, this position will oversee HR administration, legal coordination, insurance management, licensing, compliance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, analytical, operationally strong, and obsessed with accountability, systems, and execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting Leadership
  • Lead all accounting and financial operations of the company
  • Oversee: 
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Billing
    • Payroll coordination
    • Job costing
    • Cash flow management
    • Financial reporting
    • Budgeting & forecasting
    • Vendor management
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closes
  • Develop financial dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting
  • Improve profitability analysis and departmental accountability
  • Monitor labor costs, overhead, margins, collections, and company financial performance
  • Create strong financial controls, systems, and SOPs
  • Improve cash flow and working capital management
  • Partner with ownership and leadership team on strategic financial planning and decision-making
Build & Manage Offshore Team
  • Recruit, build, train, and scale a high-performing offshore accounting and administrative team
  • Create organizational structure, accountability charts, workflows, and reporting systems
  • Develop offshore processes for: 
    • AR follow-up
    • AP processing
    • Billing
    • Collections
    • Data entry
    • Reporting support
    • Administrative finance functions
    • HR administration
    • Licensing tracking
    • Insurance renewals
    • Administrative support
  • Train, mentor, and hold offshore staff accountable to KPIs, deadlines, and performance expectations
  • Implement scorecards, accountability systems, and performance management tools
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between offshore and local teams
Manage Local Finance & Administrative Team
  • Lead and hold accountable local accounting, HR, and administrative staff
  • Improve performance, communication, accountability, and efficiency
  • Build team structure, SOPs, workflows, and reporting systems
  • Ensure strong collaboration between finance, operations, dispatch, sales, and leadership teams
  • Develop measurable KPIs and performance expectations across departments
HR & Administrative Leadership
  • Oversee HR administrative functions including: 
    • Recruiting coordination
    • Employee onboarding/offboarding
    • Benefits administration
    • Payroll coordination
    • Employee documentation
    • Policy implementation
    • Personnel accountability

  • Help build HR systems, SOPs, and accountability processes

  • Coordinate with legal counsel regarding:

  • Oversee company licenses, certifications, permits, and renewals
  • Ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory agencies
  • Track deadlines and maintain operational compliance requirements
Systems, Process Improvement & Leadership
  • Create and implement SOPs across finance and administration
  • Improve accuracy and reporting through automation and technology
  • Strengthen internal controls and operational processes
  • Build scalable infrastructure to support company growth
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions
  • Drive accountability, ownership, and high-performance culture throughout the organization
QualificationsRequired
  • 7+ years of finance, accounting, or operational leadership experience
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, Finance Manager, or similar senior leadership role
  • Strong experience leading multi-person accounting and administrative teams
  • Proven ability to build and manage offshore/remote teams
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Experience scaling finance departments in high-growth companies
  • EOS / Traction experience is a plus
