Job Description:

Our company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the business unit at our Davenport, IA facility.

Role Overview:

The Davenport Assistant Controller is responsible for financial planning & analysis (FP&A), compliance, and location accounting activities while fostering business partnerships across the plant. The role will oversee financial operations at three satellite manufacturing facilities in addition to Davenport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts and weekly forecast updates.

  • Analyze financial, operational, and commercial performance results.

  • Compile monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior management.

  • Oversee month-end closing, account reconciliations, and inter-location coordination.

  • Provide support for capital appropriation requests.

  • Analyze plant spending and lead cost management initiatives.

  • Track and report on cost savings projects.

  • Lead financial analysis and process development for special projects.

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.

  • Provide decision support on expenses, capital justifications, and investment analysis.

  • Implement process improvements and cost reduction strategies.

  • Train, mentor, and develop the Finance Team.

Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.

  • 7+ years of finance experience within a publicly traded manufacturing corporation.

  • Recent exp. in Aviation or Defense.

  • Strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.

  • Direct supervisory experience.

  • Proven track record in plant-wide process improvements, such as inventory reductions, cost control, and forecast accuracy improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA (a plus).

  • More than 5 years of Finance/Accounting experience.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical abilities.

  • Experience with database querying.

  • Background in cost accounting.
