Job Description
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and team to support the company by performing month-end close, reconciliations and providing insight on various accounting / financial matters. Uses independent judgement and exercises discretion in executing their duties. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. Essential Functions
1. Maintain general ledger including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations and closing books monthly.
2. Perform analysis and lend insight on ad hoc projects as determined by the Controller, which will include key contact for Lease accounting, Sales & Use tax prep and filing, FP&A, financial reporting related projects, resolution of accounting issues, process improvements, tax schedules, sales by state, and others.
3. Collaborate with other key members of the organization.
4. Assist in updating and implementing company policies and procedures.
5. Identify opportunities to efficiently provide fiduciary leadership and promote a strong internal controls environment.
6. Support and improve business processes and accounting systems by working directly with company systems and other departments to ensure the accuracy, usefulness and timeliness of financial statements provided to management.
7. Assist in the compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley. This includes, but is not limited to, active participation in control matrix and process narrative updates; ensuring that accounting policies and procedures are adhered to; and assistance in the ongoing development and implementation of new controls, policies and procedures.
8. Assist in the preparation of interpretive analysis of business performance to be used by management.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. A Bachelor's degree required in Accounting and experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Staff/General Ledger. 1 year of leadership in end of month close; Accountant, Accounting Supervisor/Accounting Manager, in a manufacturing environment.
3. ERP experience preferred. AI and Power BI (preferred)
4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented X
5. Ability to partner effectively with internal business clients in budgeting, forecasting and decision support
6. Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office, and PDF.
7. Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and principles, financial statements and financial analysis methods and tools
8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with other employees across various levels of the organization
