Job description

The Software Engineer III is a senior engineer who owns complex features, provides technical leadership, and mentors other engineers – including in the effective and responsible use of AI coding agents as part of the team's standard development practice.

    • Lead design and implementation of complex features, using coding agents to accelerate multi-file and cross-service changes where appropriate.

    • Make architectural decisions focused on scalability and maintainability, including structuring code and documentation so agents can operate on it reliably.

    • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in effective prompting, context management, and critical review of AI-generated code.

    • Define and share team best practices for when to use agentic tools, how to scope tasks for them, and how to validate their output.

    • Influence sprint planning and technical direction, including estimating how AI-assisted development changes delivery timelines.

    • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis, including for issues introduced by AI-generated code.

    • Champion best practices across the team and evaluate new AI-assisted development tools and techniques.

    • Own front-end architecture decisions: component structure, state management, performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

    • Partner with UX/design to translate designs into performant, maintainable UI using JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and a modern front-end framework (Angular, React, or Vue).

    • Champion front-end engineering standards – accessibility, performance, and testing – across the team.

  • 5–7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Deep expertise in C#, .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • Experience with distributed systems and APIs.
  • Proven track record of using AI coding agents on complex, real-world changes, with strong judgment about their limitations and appropriate use.
  • Proven technical leadership and mentoring ability, including coaching others on agent-assisted development.
