CAE is seeking a part-time copyeditor. The copyeditor is responsible for reviewing and refining written content, including assessment content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specific style and editorial standards. This role focuses on grammar, punctuation, tone, structure, and factual correctness while preserving the authorโ€™s voice. The copyeditor will work closely with the content stakeholders to deliver polished, publication-ready materials.


  • Edit and proofread written educational and academic content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and style
  • Ensure clarity and consistency following editorial guidelines, and style guides as appropriate (e.g., APA, Chicago, client-specific or in-house style)
  • Improve clarity, flow, and readability without altering intended meaning
  • Check facts, dates, names, URLs, and references for accuracy
  • Flag inconsistencies, redundancies, or unclear passages and suggest improvements
  • Maintain version control and track changes efficiently
  • Collaborate with writers, editors, and project managers to meet deadlines
  • Review final layouts (print or digital) to catch last-minute errors before publication

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a copyeditor, proofreader, or editorial specialist
  • Exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Strong familiarity with APA and Chicago manual of style
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
