Position Overview

MKS2 is seeking a highly qualified IT Support Lead to oversee enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity support, and technical service delivery for mission-critical military systems and infrastructure. This position serves as the senior technical lead responsible for managing datacenter, network, server, storage, cybersecurity, compliance, and service support operations while supervising technical personnel supporting government information systems.

The IT Support Lead provides leadership for IT operations, cybersecurity initiatives, Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, incident response, vulnerability management, and personnel management activities. This position is designated as Key Personnel under the contract and serves as the primary liaison between technical teams and government leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day IT operations supporting mission-critical enterprise environments.
  • Supervise technical teams responsible for network, server, storage, cybersecurity, and end-user support services.
  • Manage complex datacenter environments and ensure system availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee RMF implementation, security control validation, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity compliance activities.
  • Direct incident response, cybersecurity investigations, and corrective action efforts.
  • Manage vulnerability assessment, remediation, patch management, and risk mitigation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, directives, and information assurance requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, operational metrics, and service delivery objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders to support mission requirements and technical priorities.
  • Manage staffing, workload distribution, personnel development, and task execution across technical teams.
  • Support program management efforts, risk assessments, and strategic technology initiatives.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Associate degree plus ten (10) years of IT Lead experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
Certifications
  • Current DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Information Systems Security Manager (722) qualification.
  • Intermediate or advanced cybersecurity certification such as:
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
    • Equivalent DoD-approved certification
  • Must maintain a minimum of 20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours annually.
  • Must meet all applicable DoD 8140.03 certification requirements at time of contract award.
Experience
  • Minimum four (4) years of formal supervisory experience leading technical teams supporting military information systems.
  • Experience managing enterprise datacenter operations, server infrastructure, network services, and storage environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with program management and complex IT operations.
  • Experience supporting RMF implementation, cybersecurity compliance, and security control management.
  • Proven experience leading incident response and vulnerability management programs.
  • Experience managing personnel, schedules, workloads, and service delivery requirements.
Clearance
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Special Operations Forces (SOF) information systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, virtualization, enterprise storage, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and cyber defense operations.
  • Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework, DoD cybersecurity policies, and continuous monitoring programs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent leadership credential.
