Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Progressive Care Unit
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night
Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience required.
License: Valid compact or state nursing license required at time of submission.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.
Must-Have:
- Cardiac experience preferred.
- Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
- IV start and telemetry experience required.
- Must manage and interpret dysrhythmias.
Description:
Weekdays and some weekends are required.
Rotating holidays are included.
Estimated patient ratios are 1:3.
Accessing and managing ports is necessary.
Experience in arterial line management is required.
Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP management is necessary.
Blood product administration skills are required.
Telemetry skills are essential.
Management of cardiac drips without titration is needed.
PICC line management skills are necessary.
Patients will include those recovering from various surgical procedures.
Special procedures may include patients arriving from the OR, ED, or direct admit.
Secondary diagnoses may include GI bleed, chronic or acute renal failure, and pneumonia.
The unit will support interdisciplinary care including physical therapy and respiratory services.
Special equipment used will include telemetry and chest tubes.
Compliance with credentialing processes is mandatory.
Professional references are required for submission.
