About Gifthealth

Gifthealth is a single partner platform that guides patients from intake to delivery and adherence, taking on the complexity of the prescription journey so patients can start and stay on treatment. We're looking for people who want to help us provide ‘wow’ moments for the patients, providers, and pharmacy partners we serve.

Position Summary

The Employee Relations Consultant provides day-to-day employee relations support for Gifthealth's Columbus, OH location, managing a caseload of workplace concerns and serving as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers. Reporting to the HR Business Partner Manager, this role handles complaint intake, conducts investigations under guidance, advises managers on policy and performance matters, and helps identify trends before they become larger issues. This is a strong fit for an HR professional who enjoys hands-on casework and wants to build deeper employee relations expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee consultation: Cultivate trusted relationships with employees by providing thoughtful, consistent advice and counsel.
  • Casework: Process and manage a caseload of employee complaints and disputes, from intake through resolution, in compliance with established procedures.
  • Investigations: Conduct or support investigations into workplace complaints and concerns, gathering facts, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings for review by the HR Business Partner Manager.
  • Manager consultation: Consult with people leaders on day-to-day employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, and policy interpretation, to enhance working relationships and productivity.
  • Policy guidance: Provide credible, consistent advice on the interpretation and application of Gifthealth's HR policies and procedures.
  • Documentation: Draft disciplinary and performance-related correspondence, and maintain accurate, confidential case records.
  • Terminations and leaves: Review and support employee terminations and leave-of-absence matters to help ensure compliance with state and federal law and company policy.
  • Research: Research employment law, case law, and best practices to support the development of new or updated HR policies and programs.
  • Trend spotting: Track case data and flag emerging employee relations trends or risk areas to the HR Business Partner Manager.
  • Training support: Help develop and deliver training for managers and employees on employee relations topics and policy updates.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in employee relations or a closely related HR role.
  • Industry: Previous experience in healthcare or a healthcare-adjacent industry preferred.
  • Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Analytical ability: Ability to identify trends in case data and recommend practical, proactive solutions.
  • Tools: Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Employee Relations case software (AllVoices) a plus.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently across multiple open cases while building trust with employees and managers at all levels.

  • Must be able to move throughout the facility to meet with employees and leaders across operational departments.
  • Must be able to occasionally stand or walk for extended periods while conducting employee meetings or investigations on the production floor.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
