Job description

Description This is a seasonal position and is responsible for maintaining proper and smooth youth/adult game operations, assisting with programs and special events and providing additional duties as assigned. The Recreation Leader must also communicate with the Recreation Superintendent any concerns and situations that occur. Examples of Duties Responsible for supervising planned sport, nature/outdoor, and art programs.

Checking in officials/umpires to games and signing them in and out on the payroll sheets Directing teams to the proper fields or courts Check in program participants and assist instructors with set up and tear down. Perform first aid as needed and fill out proper injury report forms. Settle disputes concerning rules, conduct and procedures and fill out incident reports as needed, Monitor safety hazards such as weather conditions and equipment.

Ensure that games and programs begin on time and the proper rules/guidelines are followed. Be knowledgeable of all rules, guidelines, and procedures. Open/close facilities for various programs (i.e

- gyms for volleyball/basketball practices, senior center for art programs, etc.). Assist with the setup, tear down and implementation of various special events throughout the year. Performs other related duties as assigned Typical Qualifications Some background/education in sports, recreation, informal education or program planning preferred Must be able to work nights and weekends as assigned Ability to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification Must be 16 years of age Supplemental Information Working Conditions: Work is performed outside in all types of weather conditions at various sporting events CLASS TITLES OF POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: N/A
