Diocese of Columbus Office of Catholic Schools
Position Title: SGO Outreach Coordinator
Location: Columbus, OH
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Operations
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Overview:
The Outreach Coordinator serves as a dynamic communicator, relationship-builder, and storyteller for the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund. This role combines creativity, marketing savvy, and organizational skill to expand awareness of the Fund's mission and strengthen engagement among donors, parishes, schools, and families. This individual will work to promote participation in the State SGO and the new Federal SGO.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and personable - capable of managing communication campaigns, planning outreach events, and speaking confidently about the impact of Catholic education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  1. Must have knowledge of marketing and fundraising practices
  2. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
  3. Must have public speaking and community engagement experience
  4. Must have good organizational skills
  5. Must have good record-keeping skills
  6. Must have computer skills necessary to learn and navigate CRM system
  7. Must have knowledge of Canva
  8. Must have ability to present oneself professionally
  9. Must have ability to prioritize and be flexible

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute outreach strategies to promote the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund across the Diocese of Columbus.
  2. Design and deliver engaging presentations to parishes, schools, donor groups, and community organizations.
  3. Collaborate with the Office of Catholic Schools to create marketing campaigns, printed materials, and digital content that inspire participation and giving.
  4. Manage storytelling initiatives - including student success stories, family testimonials, and impact highlights - for newsletters, social media, and diocesan publications.
  5. Build relationships with donors, pastors, and school leaders, providing updates and stewardship materials that reflect Catholic values of gratitude and transparency.
  6. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, donor engagement, and scholarship data.
  7. Represent the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund and the Diocese of Columbus with professionalism, integrity, and joy in all public interactions.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Operations and/or Superintendent.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field is required. Master's degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, two to four years of experience may suffice. Experience with marketing and fundraising a plus. Prior work experience in an administrative position in Our Catholic Schools is also a plus.
