Position Overview

St. Joseph Catholic School seeks a Kindergarten Aide who is nurturing, organized, and committed to supporting young learners in a Christ-centered environment. The Kindergarten Aide plays an important role in helping create a joyful, structured, and engaging classroom where students develop foundational academic, social, and faith-based skills.

The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, collaborative, and enjoys working with young children while supporting the classroom teacher in daily instruction and classroom management.

Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support
  • Assist the Kindergarten teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities
  • Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
  • Assist with transitions, routines, and classroom organization
  • Help supervise students during recess, lunch, and other school activities
Classroom & Instructional Support
  • Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
  • Assist with hands-on learning activities and centers
  • Help maintain a structured, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Support classroom management and student engagement
Organization & Communication
  • Assist with grading, filing, and record keeping as needed
  • Support classroom organization and preparation for lessons
  • Communicate effectively with the lead teacher and school staff
  • Assist with communication materials for families as directed by the teacher
Faith & Community Formation
  • Model Christian values and positive behavior for students
  • Support classroom prayer and faith formation activities
  • Help foster a caring, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment
  • Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and community events
Requirements:Qualifications
  • Experience working with young children preferred
  • High school diploma required; college coursework in education preferred
