Who do forensic nurses work with?

Career: Forensic Nurse

A career in forensic nursing means you work with members of the community as well as a variety of medical professionals and law enforcement officials. In medical settings, you are part of your patients’ health care team. Your patients are often victims, and sometimes perpetrators, of crimes like sexual assault and abuse. You collaborate with doctors, other nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, X-ray and imaging techs, and other medical staff. You also work with police officers, detectives, and prosecuting attorneys to provide evidence and expert testimony regarding your patients’ injuries and mental condition after surviving criminal acts.
