Where do medical scientists work?

A medical scientist conducts clinical research to improve health care and the treatment of diseases. Some research projects may require studying diseases or medication interactions in a laboratory setting. Other scientists may organize data and conduct clinical trials to test treatment ideas. While pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers often employ scientists to work as part of their product development team, a medical scientist may also find employment with hospitals or nonprofit health care groups.
