Most cardiovascular technologists work in a hospital, helping to monitor patients’ blood and hearts during both invasive and noninvasive procedures. Those working with patients experience life-threatening conditions must be able to perform their duties in a high-stress environment. Positions are available in medical centers, private practices, mobile diagnostic units, research universities, and other medical settings. No matter where you work, as a cardiovascular technologist you spend most of your time in a clinical or laboratory setting.
