Where does a satellite communications engineer work?

As a satellite communications engineer, you can work for government agencies, but you can also work for telecommunications companies such as cell phone, Internet, or cable TV service providers. All of these types of employers use satellites to relay information that cannot be transmitted directly through line-of-sight communication. You can also work for satellite radio stations. Due to the nature of the job duties, you have to do your job remotely, monitoring the progress and performance of the satellite from the ground using telemetry and software equipment.
